Congratulations to Hall 11 female softball team for making into the quaterfinals after an exciting victory of 5-3 over Hall 3.
The first inning was marked by a perfect fielding performance by the girl as they limit Hall 3 to zero runs. The inning ended on a lower note with three bases were loaded and no runs.
The second inning started shaky as error allowed Hall 3 to gain a run. This was followed by wasting a chance complete a double play at second and third bases. The girls recovered well and reacted by completing the inning by preventing any more runs from the opponents. Credits to the pitcher who strike out two batters. The girls carried their good form into batting by completing four runs to take the lead to 4-1. Good hits by Hui Ling, Ren Ling, Elisa and Si En contributed to the runs.
The final inning started shaky again as mistakes allowed Hall 3 to gain two runs to bring the game to its peak at 4-3. The girls then composed themselves to play out the final batter to move into batting with a score of 4-3. They then completed the game 5-3 with Chu Yi making the only run for Hall 11.
Once again congratulations to Hall 11 female softball team and hereby wishing them the very best for their next game.
Volleyball (M) v Hall 15 Written by Saransh Photos by Wei Han
Hall 11 registered a comfortable win against Hall 15 advancing not only to the third match of the prelims but also keeping the hopes of entering the quarter finals alive. The highlights of the match require mentioning of the superb team unity and coordination in both the sets. The first set was specifically marked with the aces and non returnable serves of Qi Yong which made the tight score of 16-13 turn into 23-16 in no time helping Hall 11 to win the first set with a handsome lead (score 25-14).
The second set started on the same note with a tight 2-3 point difference score until 9-7 when Wai Long took off from where Qi Yong had stopped. His aces and serves had put hall 11 in a commanding position in no time. The scores clearly indicated to the opponents that they had no hopes of making a comeback and hall 11 ended up winning the second set with a score if 25-14.
Our team will be facing Hall 9 on Saturday and the winner will secure a place in the quarters. We wish them “All the best” for that match.

Hall XI badminton team ensured that they are on the right track by winning against Hall VI in a tightly contested match. They won 3 games out of 5 to progress to the quarter-final stages. As both teams need to win in order to progress further, a feisty competition was served to the spectators.
In the first game, our mixed doubles, Ng Wei Long and Sharon Chen paved the way to victory by winning 2 sets. The score was 21-15, 19-21, 21-14. The second game was female single where Hui Qian brushed her opponent easily, winning 21-4,21-10 in the process. In the third game, which was man single, hall VI mounted a fightback by winning 21-10,21-15. The fourth game was men doubles, Qi Yong and Wei Long won the first set at first. However, Hall VI took back the second set to push the game to the third last set. The score was tight all the way until last 2 points where both players, with their right judgement, ended Hall VI hopes of qualification with a thunderous smack. The final score was 21-14, 13-21, 21-19.
Congratulations to the badminton team for qualifying to the quarter finals and we wish them luck ahead of their clash against Hall XVI.
