Softball (M) v Hall 9

Hall 11 met Hall 9 in this postponed game at Ayer Rajah Sports Complex (AR-JAS). With play postponed from 8am due to the rain, the team started playing only at 9.30am in the field which had three diamonds drawn out.

The first inning produced no runs as both teams did not take their chances at bat and only the second inning produced one run, with Arun hitting for Terry to complete a two-base run to home.

The third was played and similarly tight with no team able to outclass their opponent clearly. Alas, 1h15min has yet to elapse and our team had to a fourth inning to make up the time.

In the end though, we held our opponent in maroon well and did enough to advance to the quarterfinals, like our girls' team yesterday. Well done softballers!

Softball (M) QF v Hall 15

Hall 11 played Hall 15 in the first match of the knockout stage.

In the first inning, the Devils' fielding was excellent as they held Hall 15 convincingly, letting no runs in through the entire inning. Wei Long caught the last ball to end the top of the first inning. Jerome broke his duck in the bottom of 1st as the team batted well, scoring 6 runs in to end the first inning 6-0.

In the second inning, Terry fielded well at first but alas made an error while batting. In terms of pitching, Ravi was on top form as usual. The second inning ended without any runs from either side.

The third inning was marked by an injury, and he was replaced at 1B by Arun. Max came on to take the 3B fielding position. The team fielded very well again, to end the top of 3rd quickly as every fielder played as one. The third inning ended 6-1, with Hall 11 only letting in 1 run. However, with insufficient time played, the game went to a fourth inning.

Terry and Desmond fielded well in the top of fourth to hold Hall 15, and we scored another three runs to end the match at 9 runs to 1.
